My name is Justin, and I am a newly converted vegetarian…for the most part. You see, meat has been a part of me my entire life and it is a constant which I am finding hard to shake. Despite this, I am pushing on because I know what is right. I love animals, don’t get me wrong, but I also know that by eating meat I am slowly harming the planet and that is what has pushed me to make this decision. It was the documentary Cowspiracy which alerted me of these issues, and I refuse to stand by idly while the atmosphere continues to be polluted.

I have already taken other steps to reduce my carbon footprint such as driving less, reducing water waste, and recycling every thing I can but this step is one which can have an even larger impact. Regardless, I am not perfect, so as I transition from a meat based diet to one more plant focused I will make mistakes. This is the reason the blog is called The Part Time Vegetarian, because although my end goal is to eat vegetarian everyday this won’t happen immediately. In addition to this, I am more than just my eating habits. Aside from a vegetarian I am a runner and a recent graduate, and that will also be reflected within this blog.

Whether you are a vegetarian or not, I hope you find this blog and can use it as inspiration for your life to make the decisions you know are important. This world will become a better place as a result, but it takes that first step to do so.
